We are proud to announce that Paul Liagre is joining the Kalamazoo FC team this summer. Originally from Saint Ouen Sur Iton, France Paul is currently a sophomore at Northeastern Junior College in Colorado.
Liagre is a hardworking forward, who scored 25 goals with 10 assists throughout his two years at Northeastern. Paul has received multiple awards with the Plainsmen including 2016 Region IX All-Tournament Team, 2016 Region IX First Team, 2016 Region IX Player of the Year Runner-Up, 2016 Region IX Freshmen of the Year Runner-Up,, 2017 Region IX Tournament Team, 2017 Region IX First Team and 2017 Region IX Player of the Year Runner-Up.
Liagre played for academy side Stade Lavallois, currently in the third tier in France the Championnat National.
Coach Clements is excited about the incoming forward and had this to say about Paul. “He is a exciting forward with great movement. Good finishing presence and great leadership with work rate on the ball and off.”
2 Question Q/A
Q – Being from France and being a part of their youth academy programs, what kind of experience
do you bring to this team?
A – In the youth academy, I played in many different positions so I can change my position for the
team. Through this experience I learned how to be aggressive on the field. I acquired a good
vision of the game and some technical abilities.
Q – What does your off-season look like? (Last game was October 28th Region IX Final 2-1 loss to Otero Junior College)
A – During the off-season I am practicing twice a day six times a week. The morning practice in the
gym and some conditioning with the team, then the afternoon I am practicing by myself, usually
with the ball.
